You can set what prints on a statement or receipt to describe a service to make it easier for insurers to pay while maintaining a more meaningful name for internal use.

Go to Settings..Financial..Products. Find the ‘Name on insurance statement’ field:

Set this to be what you want to print on your statements and receipts.

The HICAPS item does not appear on receipts. It is only used internally when integrating with a HICAPS machine.

Note for Australian Users

The 1005 etc series is the one from MediBank Private because they were the first private health fund in Australia. It is similar to the codes used by HICAPS.

It’s not however an industry-wide standard used by other funds.

In fact, no code is required for patients to claim from their funds. e.g. ‘Adjustment’ is fine.
